Getting Started

Learning is not the challenge.  Finding a reason to want to learn it is.  Starting late August, this site will begin to fill with resources and ideas to help your learning come easier.  As you begin your study of Spanish, the most important thing to ask yourself is...Why?  It might be college credits, high school requirements, career advancement, social reasons, travel goals, curiosity, really it could be anything.  Find out what your "why" is, and you will find that learning a language is so easy, that even a baby can do it.  They do.  Every day.

You will find that there will be a variety of resources posted on this website.  Video, audio, printable study aids, links to other sites, etc.  I do not claim ownership of all of these, although some may be my own creations.  As a teacher, I simply choose to surround you with different sources of input for your study.  If an outside source is used, see it as just that, an outside source.  I have no intention of infringing on copyright laws, only to demonstrate the Spanish opportunities all around us.

Dive in, just like swimming, or riding a bike; to learn you have to do.  Want to learn to hear spoken Spanish? Listen to it.  Read written Spanish? Read it.  Speak Spanish?  Speak to people.  My job here is to help.  If you need extra help at any time, I WANT TO HELP.  Text me- 775-217-0533, email me- eladventurero@gmail.com, or tweet me@tristodrico.  That's why they pay me the big bucks.  If you are a student of mine at CCHS it is all free all the time.  Independent learners, give me a shot and see how much I can help you reach your goals.  I want to reach a lot of independent learners to build a learning community here!  If I am worth it, consider telling your friends and donating to my cheeseburger fund with the link on this page.

I've lived abroad, traveled abroad.  I started like a lot of you-zero knowledge and now I am bilingual, fluent, 100% confident.   I understand that you may start out nervous, I've been there, but you can do this.   I like to teach Spanish, let me help you.
