ReplyDeleteIn my previous year of spanish something that helped me greatly was the ability to utilize an translator. At the same time this handy tool hindered my ability to retain the pertinent knoweldge to allow me to pass tests. The translator weakened my ability to memorize vocabulary and to construct proper sentences using the learned material.

The something that made me weak was the option to use a smartphone because it is easier to use. when i used my smartphone I was not able to learn the materal as well as if I did not use a smartphone.

ReplyDeleteThe thing that helped me the most last year was the homework because it helped me study using activities that were already created instead of me having to create study activities. The thing that held me back the most from getting a better grade last year was the translator on my phone. It stopped me from asking questions and from learning the material as well as i could have. Also i didnt study as much as much as i should have.

ReplyDeleteThe thing that helped me the most in spanish last year was the study guides that put the words side by side for me. The thing that hurt me the most last year was the homework, I procrastinated and just wrote down random answers because we got full credit as long as everything was all filled out.

ReplyDeleteWhat helped me last year was the grammar packets that you would give us. They weren't necessary but they helped me build sentences and understand the language more.
The speaking activities didn't seem to help me much because I would know how to use and say the words I would just have trouble thinking of them when I needed them.

ReplyDeleteWhat helped me last year was being able to practice with friends it helped me pay attention and still have fun in class. What made me weak was not studying at home tell the last night.

ReplyDeleteQuizlet was my best friend when i was struggling through Spanish 1. It helped me the most with vocabulary and memorization. My reluctance to actually speak spanish though, probably hurt me the most. What is the point of learning a language if i don't have the confidence to speak it right? Hopefully this year I can fix that.
Tanner Stevens 4th Block
ReplyDeleteI have a Spanish to English dictionary that helped me a lot when doing homework and studying. My Achilles heel was conjugating verbs to fit my needs

ReplyDeleteWhat helped me the most last year was the homework and flashcards of the vocabulary. Not studying my grammar sheets almost everyday made me weak.
Sierra Sage 4th
ReplyDeleteThe little note takers helped me alot in spanish 1. What brought me down was not doing all the homework and practices from the book.
Francisca Smith 6th Block
ReplyDeleteWhat helped the most last year was the book activities, note takers, and asking other people for help when I needed it while missing excessive amounts of school was my weak spot. Having to catch up on note takers, quizzes, homework that had to be turned in, homework that we received, and in class assignments gets really tedious after awhile.
Hunter Godwin 4th
ReplyDeleteNotecards with words and translations on them helped me alot. What made me weak was not practicing the sentences as much as i should have.
Haley Jorgensen 6th
ReplyDeleteI made flashcards for every section, it took a little more time but it really payed off in the long run! Waiting till the day before to study was what made me weak. I'm going to try really hard to break that habit this year.
Alison James 6th
ReplyDeleteWhat helped me a lot last year was studying and actually paying attention in class. It also helped when he moved a little slower. He would move much too fast and expect us to master that certain concept. What made me weak is using Google Translate and talking to my friends during class.

ReplyDeleteOne thing that helped me was the homework by helping me understand more things.
One thing that made me weak was not studying every night

ReplyDeleteThe thing that helped me the most last year was quizlet. Quizlet allowed me to learn the vocabulary in a more interesting fun way, rather then just on flash cards. The thing that hurt me the most last year was not studying enough.
Breanna Paras 4th
ReplyDeleteMy study methods were different from the norm. I actually wrote down all the terms I was NOT familiar with, and their definitions, over and over again until I was very familiar with them! I thought the activities where we drew on white boards were a BIG help. And studying the study guides really does help. And talking to my peer tutor in Spanish was helpful.
One thing that made me weak would have to be not using all my resources to the best of my advantage.

ReplyDeleteLast year it helped to watch Grammer Beans. It was a hinderance when I procrastinated until the last minute.
Tristan Parrott 4th block
ReplyDeleteWhat helped me the most in Spanish 1 last year was reviewing my vocabulary sheets. When I was finding ways to remember them and there meanings, I would first identify the cognates and then the rest I would create memory clues that related to the word or phrase. This is what helped me the most in Spanish 1.
Jeff Evett 6th
ReplyDeleteThe grammar and vocabulary packets helped me the most last year. It was easy when I reviewed those a lot. Procrastination is what hurt me the most.
Kali Strong 6th Block
ReplyDeleteLast year my biggest help in learning the vocabulary was the T-charts we did to help remember the different forms of the verbs and it was easy to picture the T-chart in my head so I knew the correct form to use in sentences.
Elisabeth Herzog 4th
ReplyDeleteThe thing that helped me most last year was when I would organize the words from my vocabulary list onto flash cards. From there, I would color code the difficulty of the words and focus on the ones I had marked red (which meant that the word was really hard) and slightly review the ones marked green (the easy ones).
What hurt me the most was when I would put off studying until last minute, like the day before the test.
Josey Moore 4th
ReplyDeleteMy biggest help to being succcessful in Spanish last year was just reviewing vocab on a daily basis and making flashcards for things I couldn't seem to memorize. Something that really hindered me last year was not practicing speaking enough to actually sound like I understood what was going on.
Shelby Blakey 5th
ReplyDeleteThe thing that helped me to be successful last year was repetition of the vocabulary I didn't know and the T-charts with the conjugation endings. The T-charts made it a lot easier to memorize the endings, resulting in a better use of them. The main thing that hindered me from succeeding was procrastinating to review my new vocabulary until the last day and not trying to do my best on some of the worksheets that were given.
Rueben Renteria 5th
ReplyDeleteThe thing that helped me succeed last year was mostly the vocab sheets, because if i knew what the vocab words are then i pretty much knew the answer to the question.
What hurt me most is sometimes i wouldn't do my homework packet, and then it would drop my grade

ReplyDeleteThe thing that helped me most last year was quizlet.com it helped me to learn my vocabulary and to keep studying it. The thing that held me back the most was the grammar. I had trouble grasping the concepts sometimes and understanding how to form sentences

ReplyDeleteHonestly, the thing that help me a lot was to just study. I know most kids dread studying but it the best way to memorize things. Flash cards or any sort of study form that works best for the student, is what they should do. I had more trouble with the gramar than the vocabulary.

ReplyDeleteLast year, what helped me the most in class was keeping all my previous study guides with me and being organized.
Having the class last block and always missing for sports and stuff is what hurt me the most.
Hannah Lindsay 4(A)
ReplyDeleteFreshman year, I was pretty organized. That helped a lot with homework.
What killed me was my lack of study skills. I hate studying and I blew it off during Spanish I. I could have done a lot better if I would have just studied.

ReplyDeleteWhat helped me last year was the review packs we got before our quizzes and test.

ReplyDeleteWhat helped me the most last year was doing the homework packets. They made me learn how to form sentences with the vocab words, and made me remember the words too. What hurt me the most was not keeping all of my study guides.
Skylar Jones 6th
ReplyDeleteI think what helped me the most last year was when I actually took the time to do the homework packets, so I could really connect the words I'd memorized to real life. What hurt me was when I didn't study till a night or two before the test, or when I just went through the homework without rally taking the time to do it correctly.
Bridger Young 6th
ReplyDeleteThe things that helped me the most last year was actually doing the homework packets and the work in the book and using the online book if I didn't get it done in class.
What held me back the most was using things like Google translate too much.

ReplyDeleteLast year, what helped me the most was that I copy over all of my notes each night, that way I became familiar with the material. What hurt me the most was that I didn't do my study guides, which would have helped me a lot on the tests and quizzes.

ReplyDeleteWhat helped me last year was just study study study. Just 15 minutes everyday was just enough to help me learn all the words and phrases for that section.
What made me weak was not reviewing the sections from earlier that year I had forgotten somethings and it really was a challenge.
